Located about 38 km from Antsiranana (Diego-Suarez), the Montagne d’Ambre is a volcanic massif that is home to one of Madagascar’s first national parks, created in 1958. This park covers 30,538 hectares and peaks at an altitude of 1,475 meters.

Excursion schedule

The excursion generally begins with a drive in an all-terrain vehicle from the hotel to Joffre Ville, a former colonial military station located near the park. From there, several hiking trails allow you to explore the dense, humid forest of the Montagne d’Ambre.
